I Love Birds......

Anyone who knows me knows I love birds. I have 3 birds, Pauly, a Quaker parrot, who I got for my birthday, is 7 years old, Chloe, a Cockatiel, who my sister Norma gave me, is about 9 years old, and Sergio, a Macaw, who I got from Norma's friend Cathy, is 14 years old. Paulie knows a few words like "Thank you, dance, get you, oh, oh,"and some more that I can't really make out. Sergio makes up for what Paulie doesn't say. Sergio says "Hello" about 10 times when the phone rings, all in different voices, he says "Anthony, Dominic, Rocco." He also says, "big bird, come here" and lots of other words as well. When I call the kids he answers with a loud "WHAAATTT...." then immediately follows it with a "NOOOO..." I wonder where he gets that from?? The funniest thing he does is laugh out loud and then the more we laugh because he's laughing the more he laughs and then we are all just laughing!! He also barks when someone comes near the house he even barks before our dog Butchy barks!! Someone I didn't know called me and when she heard all the noise in the background she asked me if I was at the zoo!! You know sometimes it feels that way!! It is loud here, but it's fun.

Part 2......

I also love to sit in my back yard and watch and listen to the wild birds. We made a little section in our yard that I call "Italy" It has grape vines, a fountain, benches, birdhouses, and tomato and pepper plants. I could sit there all day and listen to all the different birds that come to eat the food I throw out there and to drink from the fountain.

Anthony's job

Here is our Anthony after working all day at BMW in Westbury. He is a paid intern mechanic, oops, I mean intern technician!! He made it clear they're not called mechanics anymore! You would not believe how great it is to see him working at his dream job. He works full time for the summer and in September he might be able to work there some afternoons instead of going to his vocational school Barry Tech where he is taking automotive technology. He started interning at Bently in the winter ( for no pay), and was the youngest student to ever do so. That lasted until May. He has always loved working with his hands and can figure anything out just by looking at it. This all amazes me just for the fact of how sick he was when he was born and until his heart surgery at age 16 months old.(I'll go into more of that on his anniversary of his surgery in July). I didn't think any of this would've been possible, but it is and just look at him so tall and looking like a man already! We are all so proud of him!!

Just Mario...

Dominic, Franky and Angelo are all upstate at Poppy and Grandma's house, until Mario's birthday 07/07/07. Rocco and Anthony are both working full time, so that leaves "Just Mario" He feels like an only child and don't think he doesn't love it! Monday we went to Taco bell and shopping at game crazy, yesterday he had a friend over which was nice because usually he would have 5 older brothers hovering over him. Today we went to McDonalds and back to game crazy. I think he's having a great time and not really counting down the days until his brothers come home!

In the Beginning...

This is us, Frank Capobianco and Gina Lichinchi. 25 years ago. I can't believe how fast it really did go. We were married on August 7th, 1982 Frank was 21, I was 22 yrs. old. We were married at Cure' of Ars church in Merrick NY. Our reception was at Manor East Catering hall right here in Massapequa, Ny the town in which we live. The catering hall is only a couple of blocks away from the house we bought a month before our wedding.Well, Frank's brother Carmine and a few others tied cans and streamers all over our 1978 dodge van, being we spent our wedding night at our home we drove it there, cans dragging on the street all the way. There used to be a bar on the corner and a lot of people were standing outside and when we came along still dressed in our wedding clothes, dragging those cans behind the green van, everyone who was outside started cheering and waving, it was really nice. The next morning at 7am my mother-in-law called to see if "I was alright" then at about 8am the little kid from across the street came over to collect for unicef.. isn't that usually done in October? And did he need to come over on a Sunday morning? Anyway, we gave him something said thanks and quickly closed the door to only notice him joining his siblings in ripping off our decorations that had covered the van. We should have guessed right then our lives were going to be very eventful and different....
